Mint, a 110 seat restaurant, is located within the newly renovated San Carlos Hotel, with both street and lobby entrances. The exotic atmosphere whisks you to Southeast Asia as soon as you open the door and spot the stone waterfall cascading down the wall.
Orange, red, and fuschia drum lights are snuggled together throughout the long dining room, and painted panels of mint, yellow, and green hang over striped banquettes. There is also a semi-private room complete with audio/video equipment that seats twelve.
Mint is a labor of love for Gary Sikka, and he takes great pride in creating an exemplary dining experience in an atmosphere that is both tranquil and exhilarating. The definition of mint is “an aromatic refreshing herb that serves as a central ingredient in accompaniment sauces in Indian cuisine.” It is true that the new restaurant is just like its namesake.
Besides being a successful businessman, owner Gary Sikka is a chef with eighteen years of culinary experience. His goal is to create an Indian restaurant that celebrates the food of the North and the South, and present it in a way that the dining public of New York will relate to it. To achieve this goal, Mr. Sikka has found young culinary talent who have worked in some of New York’s finest Indian restaurants.
Just as young American chefs have progressed American cuisine, this team, under Mr. Sikka’s guidance, is spearheading a campaign to bring an exciting and fresh approach to Indian cooking. His goal is to create a restaurant that celebrates the vibrant flavors of contemporary India, while paying tribute to its rich culinary heritage.
Mint offers several options for private and group dining within the restaurant itself, and the affiliated San Carlos Hotel.
The Lounge is perfect for a business gathering, bachelor party, and other social events. We also offer a prix fixe for the lounge, which includes open bar, appetizers (optional), and main course dinner (optional).
The Main Dining Room of the restaurant has a capacity of 120 guests and is ideal for your gala. We offer a prix fixe, which includes cocktail hour (optional), appetizers, and a main course dinner. We work with our clients to choose a menu that everyone will appreciate.

Prix fixe and a la carte menu service are available.
As part of a four star hotel, San Carlos Hotel, we also have two Conference Rooms with a capacity of thirty five guests each. These rooms are equipped with an audio visual unit perfect for your business event. After your meeting, sit back and enjoy a fabulous meal by Mint. Amazing dal; delivered within advertised window.

Waited more than an hour and a half to get a small to-go box of food. Basically a single serving of two different entrees with bread and rice for $25. If I wasn't billing to a client, I probably would never order from here. And honestly, I don't think I will bill it anymore either.

I ordered and never received the order. Called after an hour of waiting. They said they did not receive the order, so its better that I cancel. I think that speaks for itself on their customer service. Will never order again from this restaurant

Some of the worst Indian food I've had. It just tasted cheap, like everything came from a can. The dal was like chilli, the cauliflower was fried and then doused in neon red sweet and sour sauce, and paneer had almost no paneer in it. Order from somewhere else.

Food was good. But for what has now become a disturbing trend, the food was NOT ready for pickup, even though I received a text saying it was prepared and ready. This has now happened on three occasions. In addition to this poor customer service, the staff vehemently denied any responsibility for this miscommunication, instead blaming the computer. I did not receive an apology, and instead was told I "did not receive a text" as if I was lying. If the manager wishes to retain my business I want a written apology. If I do not receive a response within a week I will take this to Yelp.

Hour and a half for delivery and only two blocks away!! Fail! Not the only Indian food in Midtown

Literally the worst Indian food I have EVER had. I got the Chicken Tikka dinner special and the chicken tikka sauce came CURDLED and the chicken was so dry and hard I couldn't bite through it. I had to throw away the entire order. Obviously these reviews are subjective, but for what it's worth, I am not a picky person and I am not a food snob. If it was edible, believe me, I would have eaten it. Horrifyingly bad.

Absolutely delicious food - had poppadums, naan, saag paneer and tarka daal. They were very generous portions which would easily feed 4 people and rich sauces too. The service was exceptionally prompt, the delivery man was courteous and overall I would definitely order from here again. Very impressive all-round.

Food is great! Seasoned well (not too spicy but seasoned well). I had the Saag Paneer & Bhindi Do Pyaz, Daal and Vegetables Samosas. Plus the naan was warm and soft. Delivery service was on time so I will definitely order again.

Mint is seriously so delicious. I order from here when I want a taste of the homeland. Food is authentic and freshly prepared. The customer service is unparalleled. And FAST delivery times. What more can you ask for?

Mango lassi was spoiled. No taste.

Didn't get a chance to review the food because they took the order (45 min before their published closing time), charged my card, sent me the confirmation email and DIDN'T BOTHER TO DELIVER AND/OR CALL ME TO CANCEL. Called the restaurant an hour later - they claim they never received the order. Confirmed with seamless CS that they definitely had to, otherwise the order wouldn't go through, nor the charge.
My advice - don't waste your time.

The lunch box is amazing! I ordered saag paneer, it came with lentil, rice, naan, and okra. The food was delicious!! The saag paneer was tasty, typically the saag is completely crushed to a paste, Mint didn't crush it to a paste but it was perfect as it was. The lentil was yummy. The food was very filling, I will definitely order again.

The food was really nice - both taste and the portion. But it took way too long to be delivered - close to an hour, which if had been mentioned upfront, i could have scheduled accordingly.

These guys are pro...best Indian food I've had delivered in a while

Chicken samosas were very dry as well as the chicken tikka masala. There was no flavor in the chicken in the chicken tikka masala. Disappointed, especially considering dishes are expensive. Small portion sizes.

Top notch Indian. Hard to find midtown Indian spots with excellent delivery. This one is good, and let's hope it stays that way.
